Bag Packing Fundraiser

Saturday 14th June 9:30am-4pm our players, parents and coaches will be at Sainsbury’s in Colton raising money for the club by helping packing peoples bags.

Fundraising is vital for our club and all money raised is re-invested in buying new equipment and subsidising things to make sure rugby is affordable for all and most importantly fun.

If you see the kids don’t forget to say Hi!

Bag Packing Fundraiser

Our kids, parents and coaches are taking part in a bag packing fundraiser at Sainsbury’s in Colton Retail Park on Saturday 21st September between 9:30am-4pm trying to raise much needed funds for the club whilst also promoting our club and rugby league to potential new recruits to the sport!

If you want to pop by and say hello, or let us pack your bags, give us some loose change or we also take contactless or want to ask us a question … we’d be happy to oblige.

Hope to see you tomorrow and also raise lots of much needed funds! If you have found this page from one of our leaflets please get in touch with one of our coaches or email us – new kids are always welcome!

SGM Update

Following our SGM on the 1st July where Matt Allen stepped down as Treasurer we are delighted that Gwyn Jones was nominated and appointed as our new Treasurer. Gwyn is a successful businessman so has a keen eye for finances and will be a great addition to the management team!

Kyle Hutchinson and Daniel Niblett were both re-appointed in their roles of Chairman and Club Secretary respectively.

We would like to thank Matt Allen for all his hard work and support for the last couple of years as Treasurer and a coach of the Under 8s and we all wish him, Gemma and Zachary the best as Zachary follows his football dream at Sheffield United.

SGM (Special General Meeting)

We will be holding a special general meeting on 1st July 2024 at 20:30 on Zoom.. Our existing treasurer Matt Allen is stepping down from this role, both Kyle Hutchinson (Chairman) and Dan Niblett (Club Secretary) are standing for re-election to offer continuity – although all roles are available for anyone to put themselves forward. There will be a full handover and support from Matt.

Matt has done amazing job since he officially took the role on 9th October 2022 and has played a key role in getting the club into a much better and sustainable position for the future.

We’ll be sharing a Zoom link on Spond and our private Facebook groups. Please attend promptly, as we want to make a quick start if don’t want people to miss anything.

Launching our SEN group 10th April

We have some amazing news we want to share with everyone!

On Wednesday 10th April we are launching our dedicated SEN (“Superhero’s Enjoying New [Things]”) kids rugby group for girls and boys aged 5-12 years.

The group will train weekly on Wednesdays 5:30-6:15pm with their coaches and new friends in a fun and safe environment. It will be non-contact and kids won’t be tackling each other, but will be doing fun rugby drills and games!

Do you have a child who might want to give it a TRY? Or just want more information?

Want to give rugby a TRY?

Is your kid interested in rugby or not even ever picked up a ball? It doesn’t matter.. we are here to help!

We have several age groups currently from 2 years to 8 years (School Year 3). So if you have a girl or boy who is interested and wants to give it a go we offer FOUR weeks training free of charge to see if they like it.. Just get in touch with one of the coaches if you have any questions or want to bring them down!

Training with Leeds Rhinos Foundation

We have Leeds Rhinos Foundation coming to deliver a training session to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 kids… they have previously done this two times in the past.

It’s a non-contact session for kids new to rugby and our teams to come down and have fun!

They have been at Great Preston School delivering training sessions to the kids ahead of this session.

New Players Wanted!

We are recruiting for our Under 6’s and Under 7’s team – if you are new to rugby and interested in giving it ago or already play why not come down and try it out free or charge?

We raised a massive £756.02 bag packing at Morrisons in Rothwell

Our Under 7’s team, parents and coaches were down at Morrisons in Rothwell on Saturday 19th taking part in bag packing (first one allowed since COVID) and the support from the staff and most of all the customers was amazing… the generosity was unbelievable, considering the current financial climate, and we were only on 3-4 tills for 6 hours.

All our kids thoroughly enjoyed it although struggled and needed the odd break – hopefully they didn’t break your eggs (we tried our best to be as careful as we could!)

It took nearly as long as the bag packing to sort and count the money.

Every single penny we raise as a club goes is spent on buying equipment, clothing or on the kids – so as a club we rely heavily on people and businesses. We are desperate for a new storage unit (shipping container) for our equipment as the current one is like a leaky bucket so this will go a long way…

THANK YOU ALL!!!!
